Have you ever read or heard of the book "Hawksong" by Amelia Atwater-Rhodes?
It's a love story of a female avian shapshifter (Hawk form) and a snake shapeshifter, (Cobra form) whose families/people have been warring with one another for centuries but they sacrifice themselves to one another to save their people and end the war by joining both Species together. Trying to find peace but even that isn't enough to stop the hate and prejudice between the two clans. It's a beautiful book, it's part of a series but Hawksong is the first. It's one of my favorite books, do you think you could illustrate a specific scene from the book and or whatever you decide would work best for a piece?
Thanks for taking the time to view and compliment my work. I don't check in often with this page so forgive the tardy response! Regarding your work, it is a delight to see -great control of complex elements. I enjoy the very inviting and warm palette, as well. Keep the work coming...
Hi, Audrey. Ken and I have been going to Renaissance fairs for at least 20 years now, but we must have met you around ten years ago when Rosie was wrapped around my neck like an ermine out at the Visalia fair. You took a picture of us, and I will always cherish it. So glad we met up again last year. We lost Rosie, but we found you again. You and Ray are our mirror couple! Your artwork is mysterious and enchanted, like you. How do you stay so sweet? I would like to try painting in oils once but am afraid of toxic fumes. I hope you wear a mask.
