Local Social Network for the Arts Community in Central Valley

I'm fortunate to be able to spend some time visiting my family in various locations this summer. The Denver and Boulder CO art scenes are pretty neat, with their own "arthop" on Friday nights. I got to visit the gallery in Denver that is hosting one of the juried shows advertised on our site (Abecedarian Gallery). The owner was really nice and the current exhibit looked great. I suggest looking into it. One of the other artists that I visited was working on a large public art piece for the City of Denver. It was very inspirational speaking with him... and I plan on staying in touch. The gallery layouts were interesting, some were studio/gallery and others just a gallery set-up.
This week I'm in Florida visiting my parents. Not much time for gallery hopping- but lots of time to check out the public art. I'll share anything that's notable. Next week I'm going up north, to NJ and Pennsylvania. I'll have some time to visit museums, galleries and my favorite place... Grounds for Sculpture. It has acres of large sculptures from various artists and mediums. My 10-year goal is to have a piece there. I try to go every year for a visit. It's great to see the technical aspects of displaying large work that has to endure the seasons.
I thought it would be informative to share art from other places and I will update when I go up north. I heard it's hot at home... but at least it's a dry heat. There is humidity in Florida, no need to shower because you stay wet all of the time...

Amy, Saundra wanted us to go to the opera tomorrow night, she had tickets for us. I am sorry you are not here. Next time, I am sure you are doing something much more exciting. But, I think I am going to go, if I can get a sitter. Have fun still and see you when you get back. Grab a few sunsets on camera if you can. I would love to see them.
