Hy Sherry, I'm glad you like my art. I went to your website, and you do have alot of variety to what you create, and very beautiful environmental things! You asked how I start a painting. Usually with a sketch that I transfer onto a smooth gessobord or canvas, then work in black and white for awhile until I work out all the mistakes, then start adding color. I almost always use oil paint, and enamel for motorcycle art. Sometimes I just coat a panel with dark paint then start "ghosting" the images in, until I have a good balance--then start adding color. I am very slow, and use many layers--so one painting can take weeks or months. God bless, Audrey
I'm on three web art groups, one international, one mostly US and the other Fresnoarts. What's good about Fresno arts is,if you go out to the shows on arthop (first Thursdays) little by little you meet many of the artists, which doesn't happen with the other groups! I also know many of the Fresno and foothill artists because of the shows I host. The local art community is fun but you have to make an effort to show your art and go to the shows. Many artists are hermits with hidden talent .... Later B
