Profile Information

A winning songwriter, professional performer, CD producer and music event coordinator, Lisa continues to be involved with music in some way. Combining her passion for music, with her professional experience in the human service field, Lisa strives to “give back” by advocating for the creative arts as a means of self expression. This core belief is evident in Lisa’s dedication to community service, coordinating musical fundraisers and events for various local non-profit organizations, including the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, the Valley Animal Center and the Marjorie Mason Center. Lisa also has donated guitars to youngsters who cannot afford them, and has established musical scholarships for high school students. Lisa’s commitment to encouraging young girls and women to be involved in songwriting and guitar playing resulted in a Women’s Open Mic Night, which was held regularly to highlight women performers. Most recently, Lisa volunteered at the Downtown Community Arts Collective in an effort to introduce the arts as a creative outlet to underprivileged youth.

Lisa, . .hi, i responded to the Art Hop venue for solo intrumenalists because i play a unique form of blues that is an hybrid of Beethoven and Jerry Lee Lewis, Chopin and Chuck Berry, Debussy and Lightnin' Hopkins, Gershwin and Jimmy Reed.
I taylor the performance to the moment. For Art Hop i imagine a more quiet impressionistic form of background soft blues ala Debussy, or Gershwin.
My sound is most deffinitely a Calif. genre well outside the New York cocktail hour parlor type of riffing. I aim for a deeper and more personal style of intimacy, . .with the focus always on the romantic.
But, . .aside from the Art Hop event, i am a composer of an original blues/rock/impressionistic style of opera, designed to be an event unto itself, for any stage, broadway to symphany hall.
It is set in the stone age of 20,000 years ago in the deep ice age, . .hence the title, "Rock Age".
It should appeal to any crowd, blue jeans to evening gowns.
I was hoping you might be able to recommend me to a venue here in Fresno which might welcome such a project as this from a local composer to champion Fresno's cultural profile outward into the larger world of L.A., San Fran, and beyond.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
