I lived in Belgium and Africa before immigrating to the United States with my family.
I attended California State University of San Jose, majored in art, and graduated from California State University of Fresno with a B.A. in Fine Art. As a young artist, I taught community art class and accepted commissions. I reside and have a studio in the country near Sanger, east of Fresno.
I have been showing my personal work. My preferred medium is oil and enjoy experimenting in mixed media, and recently encaustic, and now digital art.
I have also done studies and abstracts of tree. Through these paintings, I focused on the graphic elements of line, shape, and texture, and depict these in a minimalist landscape.
Lately, my focus has been on digital illustration and character studies.
Painting oil/encaustic, digital painting.

So very nice of you and your husband to come by the Art/Poetry Slam last night. I will be contacting you in a few weeks as there are several of your paintings that I am interested in showing.

The website is for the furniture. It is not complete by any means. And was started when my son began his teakwood import business as Teak & Batik. He is temporarily in Jakarta with his wife who just had a baby 1 month ago. I have been taking care of the store.
The store has grown/morphed into something more gallery like. With the hand made and hand carved teakwood as its foundation.
At the moment I have 8 artists displaying their work. There are oils, watercolors, acrylics iron work sculpture, some mixed media. There are hand made textiles from Indonesia - the batik fabrics and teakwood animal carving. I enjoy variety. I have some silver jewelry from Thailand and Israel. I would appreciate meeting you at the store, and am open to advice and suggestionsl. I am new to this business - but have a friend who has been a gallery and art appraiser for 20 years, showing in the store. - I having been a family counselor for 25 years in Visalia. But I find I am enjoying the creative outlet of the store. I know what i like and what I would put in my own home. I have fallen in love with the life of the hand made and carved teakwood. Each piece is actually a work of art. I look forward to meeting before too long. We are having a launch party on April 1.
The Art & Poetry Slam. A non profit will host a wine bar, there will be appetizers, music, and we have 10 poets who will be reading their original works. . . I was hoping to include your work for the event. . although we are already thinking about our 2nd show/party in the fall. . Regards, Cynthia
