My critique is directed at the false assumptions in the popular modern definition of perfection. There is an accepted "default," unexamined and uncritiqued, that equates 'uniformity and efficiency' with perfection. Instead of asking whether or not a Stradivarius can also be perfect, whether or not it can also "join the club", I'm asking people to reexamine their definition of "perfect." Another definition of "perfect" not often applied, is "complete" or "whole." With that, we can immediately affirm that the Strad is perfect AND we can examine our default assumptions about uniformity and efficiency, and whether or not they lead to things which are complete and whole. :)

I looked at your web site and read your statement about the concept of perfection being warped by machinery. Cannot handcrafted objects be infinately more perfect than machine produced . Take the Stradavarious violin.
