Adrianna: this is a little late for your question back in october, I'm sure... but I just joined the group :P
Acrylic can be blended better with glaze (like used in faux finnishing). It wont break down the chemical integrety like water will and it also keeps the thickness (viscosity) of paint (rather than getting watery).
To get a longer "open time" like oils you can use something called acrylic extender. I hope this helps.

Regarding acrylic paint... I find I need something that dries a little bit slower, so oil is the direction I went. Then I found I needed to find something that dried a little bit quicker, so now I use pretty exclusively Alkyd Oils. Just my 2 cents worth...

Yes it was juried and the show itself had artists that were really varied, all kinds of art.

Hi Juliana
I saw your work again last night again and it was just as charming and captivating as the first time I saw it.
The Danville Fine Arts Festival (MLA Productions)is 40 miles from SF. It's a quaint little town blocked off with 4 blocks of fine artists. We had hoped for mild weather but the heat wave hit and it reached 105. Ack!!! It was 2 days long and quite an experience! The second day was cooler and people walked their dogs up and down the main ave while they browse. There were so many dogs that we could browse dogs while they browsed art.
If you want more info,I can send it on.

Interesting, Chris. I must admit, I've never given it much thought. Though, I certainly remember the horror stories of the folks at the SF MoMA having to glue pieces of Jackson Pollock's painting back on. Perhaps I should be more concerned!
