In the spirit of Halloween, Fresno Filmworks presents "Life After Beth" at the historic Tower Theatre. This zombie rom-com, featuring young stars Aubrey Plaza and Dane DeHaan, tells the story of Zach, a young man who tries to continue dating his girlfriend after she comes back from the dead. Right before her sudden death by snakebite while on a hike, Zach tells Beth he wants to date other people. Later, he sees her resurrection as a chance to make things right. But after Beth starts punching walls, spewing expletives, gnawing on car upholstery, and — worst of all — eating people, Zach is forced to rethink his relationship decision. Filmmaker Jeff Baena, who co-wrote “I Heart Huckabees,” makes his directorial debut in a movie that Variety calls “charming, thoughtful, and laugh-out-loud funny.” Co-starring John C. Reilly, Molly Shannon, and Anna Kendrick.
Rated R. Advance tickets cost $10 general and $8 for students and seniors, and they can be purchased by check or cash at the Tower Theatre box office, 815 E. Olive Ave. Go online to FresnoFilmworks.org for tickets and details.
