Event Description

Filmworks presents the family drama “James White” at the historic Tower Theatre. Winner of an Audience Award at both the 2015 Sundance and AFI film festivals, the film tells the story of 20-something James White, a native New Yorker who is on the verge of a breakdown as he attempts to care for his dying mother and to see past his coddled upper middle-class life. As his mother deteriorates and the pressure on James builds, his volatile behavior puts him at risk of losing those who need him the most. This raw, fragile and intimate family story, the directorial debut from filmmaker Josh Mond, stars an ensemble cast that includes Christopher Abbott in a breakout and Independent Spirit Award-nominated performance as James. With Cynthia Nixon, Scott Mescudi, and Ron Livingston. 86 minutes, Rated R. Advance tickets cost $10 general and $8 for students and seniors, and they can be purchased by check or cash at the Tower Theatre box office, 815 E. Olive Ave. Visit for tickets and details.
