I just returned from an out of town trip also. The poster competition the 14th was one in which paintings were submitted to represent the Central California Winegrowers Fall Cornucopia at Chuckchansi Oct 25th. I won it :)
I am following your 'travels' through Fresno with great interest! So your wonderful vocals will be heard from the courtyard during the grand reopening of the Met? Do you know if the performances will float on throughout the museum also? What a day at the Met that will be!!
Well, beating the heat, I am not.
But as I look back I see I didn't get my THANK YOU to you after showing at the Tower.. What a special experience it was to be at the Oprera again and even more fun listening while I worked.
Thank you again...and I look forward to again merging the arts in such a special fashion!.
I'll be following you with interest,
until the next time,
Great to be back in the loop again via this forum..So many fine
people here I've missed you all..heard great comments about your summer youth program Edna, your efforts are rewarded! My heart leaps there (from here in Cambria) and will plan to enjoy coming events!
Thank you so much for your comments. I do want you to continue keeping me in the loop of information especially as I do want to make a definite connection with Spirit of Woman. I did not get anyone there this Spring or Summer because the founder, Audrey, had surgery and is recovering. I need to have her total awareness and help in organizing who and when. Keep me posted. Thanks, Karlene Ryan
Thank you. I'm doing my new artwork. I hope I can update it soon. But I'll update my old artwork when I was studying in Thailand and my old artwork in 2003. I hope that someday we can share are artwork with other artists at Fresno Art museum.
I went to see the opera 3 times in Fresno downtown. I really like it. Because in my Country doesn't have it. I remembered the last time that I seen it with Japanes costume. This story it was very sad.
Hi and good morning Diane!
I recieved your letter asking about joining you all tomorrow and I'd love to! Can you contact me with the details today? (559-227-0070 ) My pal, Ron Covert very much enjoyed his time with you! Looking forward to hearing from you,
Thank you for being my/our friend in this great website formed for us local artists. From Philadelphia, I remember attending the Academy of Music (Montavani, etc) and loved it. I'd like to echo Linda Pitts' question as to how we as local artists can be combined with the Opera Association in adding one more cultural event during opera presentations. We'd love to be a part of it!
Hi Diane, Thank you for such a warm welcome, and yes I love the Opera. I grew up singing in church in Louisiana, my daughters and I use to travel all over Louisiana singing at different church functions. But nothing as extravagant or as beautiful as the Opera. Singing is another passion I love besides painting. Although I haven't been to the Opera in a while, you have encouraged me to go again. Thanks!
I notice, in particular, your high child involvement and have pondered how to link the two arts. Being a old worn out teacher :) I love to think about kids.
So you have children singing. Then perhaps an artist in the lobby giving mini art lessons to the children , after the show, before the show, ?? thus also pulling in siblings who are interested in the arts.
I know from gallery shows that this is beyond difficult but I have always thought of uniting the arts when presenting them to children.
