Local Social Network for the Arts Community in Central Valley

Today Saturday September 19th there are two great Cultural Celebrations taking place!

The First is the 32nd Annual Fresno Highland Gathering and Games at Roeding Park. This is an event for the whole family and if you have Celtic roots in Ireland or Scotland you will be filled with renewed pride and respect for your ancestral background! Usually all the clans have a table set up where you can get more information about your particular clan or tribe. You'll also be entertained by an army of handsome Celts in traditional garb marching in formation and competing in games from the highlands of the old country. Traditional and contemporary Celtic music will fill the air from various locations throughout the park. See the link before for more info.

The second Great cultural Event taking place today is the Tamejavi Festival at Radio Park next the Fresno Art Museum. This is Fresno's primer Multi-cultural celebration drawing from the rich cultural traditions which have blessed the valley with their presence. A variety of artistic expression: theater, dance, music, poetry, and multi-media will reach out and pull you into the Tamejavi experience. You will not be disappointed! "Artists from the Hmong, Indigenous Mexican, Iranian, Filipino, Native American and African American communities will tell stories of heritage and cultural transformation." Food booths, as well as arts and crafts will be available for purchase, so come out and fill your stomach and soul with the riches of the nations! See the link below for more info.
