Thursday 5-19-2911, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. "500 Frogs" will be exhibited at the Museum of the Hallway
Sixth graders of Mrs.Platt's class in conjunction with Mrs. Schellenberg' the school's art specialist and museum curator at Edison Bethune Charter Academy (EBCA) is participating in 500 Frogs. This is a project where artists around the world are painting artist quality resin, hand casted frogs to send as gifts to children in Japan. The frogs are a Japanese symbol of good luck. The students were filled with compassion for the Tsunami victims. The sixth graders were most enthusiastic and creative in painting their frogs. Some chose to make them very realist looking and others made them fanciful. But all students made their frog as beautiful as they could knowing it was destined to become another child's treasure.
