Happy New Year! Despite the struggles and financial challenges we've had this year Sammy G Art has grown and we are so thankful for the love and support of friends and family members. We have been able to invest in some important tools to improve the business.
As the Wife, I have noticed Sammy has inspired many around him to draw and paint (myself included). That's the whole point right, the "Desire to Inspire." Sammy's father, Art painted these "Poppies in the Moonlight." As with all works on this blog, unless otherwise stated, this is for sale. We are working on providing a "shopping cart feature" on Sammy's new website that in under construction. We are also in the process of creating an "Artist Rising" profile with Art.com that will offer ways to order prints, framing, and shipping. Although we will only earn 30% of the profit, we think it's worth it since the online company takes care of all the details. Direct sales of original paintings will still be in the artist's hands. We may not seek to further our Etsy Shop since the site seems to be more focused on crafts and less on fine art.
Sammy G Art is still emerging as a small business, but I have been impressed with its progress. I am hopeful for what 2012 will bring and happy for Sammy and proud of his hard work. He is prolific and task oriented. Most of all he's been patient. There have been months where money was tight and the business suffered, but Sammy was patient and understanding. There is always a tension between "house" money and "business" money that we are still trying to balance. My goal in 2012 is to be more involved in Sammy G Art, making sure I directly participate and help with projects. I found this year, I sometimes took a "this is his thing" attitude that I have since dropped. We are partners, and with experience, we will be able to find our balance and continue to do our best to uplift and inspire those around us to enrich their lives with art.
Wishing you a prosperous and safe New Year!
