I found a post on craigslist Fresno looking for a acoustic venue in Fresno a few days after the Fresno Folklore Society decided to open the Brick Wall. It seemed like serendipity to me. I checked out her myspace and called her up. We are the kick off of her Pacific Northwest Tour.

I was 13 and I just HAD to learn that great new Simon and Garfunkle song, Sounds of Silence. I traded my Crown Red Sparkle drumset for an acoustic guitar and a Mel Bay Chord Book. I had absolutely no idea what I was getting into. How was I to know the song was way more complicated than most mid 60s pop rock? So I learned the chords to play Sounds of Silence and then discovered there dozens of easier songs that used some of the same chords just fewer.
Years later I learned that all of those… Continue

Every Thursday at noon I'm hosting an acoustic jam at Milano on the Fulton Mall. Anybody on any instrument is welcome to play. I'd like to thank regulars Louis and Tom and , lately Nye, for dropping by.
This jam started three or four years ago when Tom Walzem, of the Neptunes, posted a note at FresnoFamous. That Thursday at noon Tom and I met at the Fulton Mall clocktower with the young Patrick Contreras (still at Fresno State). It was hot out there. There was a loud preacher guy on… Continue

I am an enabler. An enabler of musical dreams. If you can sing it I can find the chords for it and even write it down in music notation. I can create a music track composed of a guitar and voice all the way to a full band sound.

Playing the blues is a great release. I am so grateful to my mentors, teachers and musical inspirations like BB King, Albert King, Clapton, Irving Berlin, Hoagy Carmichael, Mancini, Jerry Goldsmith, Bird, Coltrane, Mingus, Joni Mitchell and all.
My wife is six years into a fight against ovarian cancer. This tune started with a scat vocal over a guitar and the intention to write a lyric.
