The Fresno Arts Council (FAC) is a private, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization established in 1979 under the name of the “Alliance for the Arts” by local artists, arts organizations and interested individuals who wished to create a voice for the arts in the Central San Joaquin Valley.
Our mission is to “enrich peoples lives through the arts.” Our purpose is to foster an arts community that recognizes and honors the contributions of its citizens to the arts; advocate to city, county, state and national institutions on issues of concern to valley artists; collaborate with community leaders, businesses, corporations, foundations and other arts organizations to bring artists and audiences together.
Arts Specialty:
The FAC is an active advocate for artists and the proliferation of Public Art in the City and County of Fresno. To advocate is to provide active support, to educate and/or speak in favor of a cause, an issue or an organization. We do not lobby the government to influence legislation, but we are advocates for the arts and culture program for the citizens of the City and County of Fresno.
Hi Maria: Thank you for your compliment on my work! Can you also check the records and make sure we are still active members of FAC? It would likely be under our other business - The Metal Shoppe - Eric and Debra Montgomery. I can't remember when it expires.

I was looking forward to that store opening, too. I will check to make sure we are still part of the public art registry. I thought we were. Thanks for getting back to me.
What ever happened with the artwork that was supposed to go on the corner of the Fresh and Easy Market downtown? Drove by there a couple days ago and nothing seems to be going on. Did they ever select an artist to do the work? We didn't put together a proposal because we didn't think we would make the deadline in Jan 2009. Are there any opportunities still since there has been an obvious delay in opening??
Hello dear friend
It really is true that friends connect via thoughts!! You have been on my mind a lot the last weeks. I've called several times but got an answering machine and thought you must be so busy so I didn't leave a message. I surely do miss seeing you! My art is in in the Planet Java right now and Thursday there is an reception/art hop. I'll be there..I wish you would have time to drop by but I know how busy you are! I'm going to try calling again soon.
I'm measuring my strength out and your words always give me a lot of comfort.
Love to you always!
