There was a time when I forgot I could paint. I sank into a silent depression. I was with someone. We were together alone. I filled my life with empty hard work.
Finally I entered old work in an art show. Here I am today painting away. I am having fun, learning, have goals and friends. I will not forget what it is like to have none.
I paint in acrylic on canvas.
My specility is to try to catch a person's likeness. Often I paint and work and paint and work, around and around and I seem to be getting nowhere. Then sometimes a miracle happens and the person on the canvas just comes to life and says "Hi"
That is a real kick! Nothing beats that thrill.
Kathryn, I think your painting of the soldier and son is wonderful. It has real meaning, and is beautifully done. You are a real tallent.
It was my great pleasure to have you listen to me. Most don't seem to understand what I am talking about, but I knew you understood everything. It is my duty as an older artist to pass on what I have learned.
I plan to paint at the Hippy Show.
Saturday, November 2 is the Portrait Show at the old Gertrude School in Awahnee, rte 600 near Hwy 49.
I hope to see you tomorrow at the Nudes in November Show.
I meant to leave you a message so much sooner, but time slips away. I wanted to thank you for that night at Love Song. I learned so much by watching you paint and speaking to you! It was a great experience for me!! Thank you! I look forward to see you at more shows!
