Karen Johnston is an established Central California metal sculptor whose studio is located on 5 acres in the rolling hills north of Clovis. She has joined forces with professional photographer Tamela Ryatt in establishing Ryatt Johnston Gallery.
The lovely drive to Johnston's studio sets the stage for a contemporary gallery in a home setting. Additionally, the grounds, complete with a pond and cactus garden offer a scenic setting for her garden art.
Steel dominates Johnston’s thoughts, time and artistic expression. The natural world is the catalyst for Johnston’s material. The spartan cacti of New Mexico, the lush botanicals of Hawaii and her San Joaquin Valley hillside property inspire her creativity. Johnston reciprocates for this inspiration by incorporating art into her daily life.
In addition to her fine art, she sculpts inimitable pieces of art furniture and incorporates fused glass into her metal work.

Thank you for extending the Grand Opening of Ryatt Johnston Gallery. It was truly inspiring, and well worth the lovely drive. Karen, you make steel come alive. Tamals photos within the gallery are very complementary, they too tell a story. Your studio/shop, is way cool, along with the great video of the creation of Ezmerelda. I appreciate your nod to nature and enjoyed our walk in the exotic garden, it spured me to study specific cacti last night. Yesterday was great medicine, thank you. My phone 960-4499
Welcome to Fresnoart.net. Your work is outstanding! I recieved a postcard recently of your open gallery tour, I belive that I missed the date though. Is there any chance of being able to vist your gallery?
