James M. A. Witt is currently employed with the United States Postal Service and has served as a Letter Carrier for the past 14 years. James’ true passion, however, lies in the fields of restorative justice, victim advocacy, and nonprofit development. His passion is expressed in his support of local victim advocacy organizations and his continuous efforts to discover and advance best practices in nonprofit development. James has assisted in the founding of several nonprofit organizations and currently serves as President of the Board of Directors of RCS-Resource Center for Survivors, an organization dedicated to the healing and empowerment of survivors of sexual assault and family violence.
Born and raised in Fresno, California, James returned to his hometown after serving in the US Army and attained a bachelor’s degree in criminology from California State University Fresno. It was there, through his study and volunteering, that he developed an appreciation for restorative justice and a devotion to advancing victim centered services of all types. James now continues his formal education, this time, with a focus in business administration. His passion, experience and education place him in a position to develop and strengthen nonprofit organizations with the end goal of creating safer, healthier, and more empowered communities.
