I am Australian Artist, I am currently doing a deegre in fine arts (painting) at Victorian College of the Arts, part of Melbourne University. I had my first solo show in November of 2008 at Brunswick street gallery and also had a couple of group shows last year and a Graduation show which was also a group show at Victorian University also in November.
I also Teach bass guitar and am currently working on sound installation's based around the bass guitar and sound effects, that help to inform my visual work..
My work is quite varied in style and subject matter. Currently I am working on paintings that look at the imagery, politics, and social issue's pertaining to war. In the past I have done work that talks about deforestation and the abstraction of plants and animals from most of there natural enviroments. I mainly paint in oils on canvas and watercolors on high quality paper, but I do draw alot which informs my oil paintings.
I also photograph alot of my subjects first, and scan the internet for appropriate images, to create a composite image within photoshop, which can also inform my painting. I have been known though to exhibit these composite images as works in there own right as printed images.
My work is not limited to any one style or genra of painting, my earlist works are naturally surreal, my latter works have been abstract, realist, and even Neo-Boroque. My latest works are a hybrid (fusion) of styles based around war and dolls
