Hi Donna!!! So glad you joined. It has been a while since much action, Pete gave good advice...man...food is such a big deal to us, I want to be healthier, so any ideas we all could use the advice of each other. Share what you know. I am a firm believer in garlic and olive oil. I am 1/4 Italian, raised by Italians, so it is a huge part of my diet and I really believe it has power. What do you all believe in? Every culture has it's own ideas. I would love to hear more!!!

The diet industry wants us to forget one thing. Eat less and you WILL lose weight. I have cut down on fried foods but I haven't cut them out. We eat the foods we like, but our portions are smaller (still generous by many standards.) Snacking between meals we have cut to a minimum, with fresh fruit replacing cakes some (not all) of the time. That's it. The result. My wife has lost over 30 lbs this year, I have lost over 70!

By the way Audrey, what is that diet you are on?
I started a new diet today.
No bread.
A lot of watermelon and protien.
Nothing else except veggies.
I am so disappointed in myself.
But I will get this fat off somehow.
All support welcome.
And if you have suggestions, I am SO OPEN to them.
Thanks.

Oh thanks Audrey, I will have to try that. It is getting pretty sad around here!

I've heard that peeling them in the sink with cold water running over them works, but can't remember trying it, I'm usually too busy and just do it over the garbage can, then rinse the onion off before cutting into little pieces. That rinsing seems to help.

Does anyone know how to peel onions without burning your eyes. I am tired of crying over everything.
