Alot of artists (like me) are really shy and introverted. If you are blessed with more outgoing friends it can be a real help. Bill and Mary Redondo and even their kids add fun to what can be very…Continue

Comment by AUDREY RAWLINGS ARENA on May 31, 2011 at 7:56am I painted kids at a school carnival for the first time last Friday. Lane Elementary is a block away from my house and I walked with my two grandsons who pulled my face paint supply cart. My grandaughter (21/2) was with me and also my husband Ray (who helped set us up, then he had a meeting to go to.) It was a real good but exhausting experience, working fast with simple cheek designs because there were dozens of kids in line for the 2 hours I was there. I volunteered to help the teacher who was in charge of facepainting when I overheard her talking about it while I was returning a book for my grandson to the office. The next day I started re-doing my supply cart, for such spur of the moment occasions. I also painted a new design sign for fast work. The one I have for fairs, and parties involves some complicated work that a school carnival doesn't have time for. I will post a couple of photos when I get a chance. Thanks for joining my group :)
Comment by AUDREY RAWLINGS ARENA on May 20, 2011 at 8:31am Greetings to our new members! Please feel free to add photos and comments. I just ordered an EZ-UP director's chair for the little ones to sit on so I can paint standing up. Painting kids from a sitting position can be really hard on my back, (now that I'm not so young :) Some children tend to slowly lean way over in one direction, then the next--or wiggle alot. Others are so intent on having a "perfect" design, that they hold still like a statue, they are all unique and mostly adorable. The Fresno Pirate Faire was a terrific event. Too bad it rained on Sunday. Thanks to Bill and Mary Redondo, Emily and Sarah for helping out, you added alot of fun to our area! My two little grandsons Adrian and Enrique helped out in the food booth too, and did a great job!
