Fresno Art Museum Exhibitions

The Fresno Art Museum is seeking artists from the Central Valley who have never presented their artwork at the Fresno Art Museum.

Artists must currently reside in the Central Valley. Only artwork that can hang on the walls of the Museum will be accepted for this exhibition and delivered artwork must be completely ready for hanging. There is a maximum dimension limit of 60 inches. Only one piece will be accepted from any artist, so enter your best work. No sculptures or installation pieces will be accepted. Only original works will be accepted for digital art; any reproductions or scans of pre-existing art will not be accepted. All artwork will be returned.

This is a juried show and the jury will be headed by the new Executive Director of the Fresno Art Museum, Michael Mazur.

Please write the following on the back of your piece:
1. Artist name
2. Title of the work
3. Date of the work
4. Medium used

The artwork must be wrapped for protection when delivering.

No later than 5:00 pm on January 16, 2009.

Artwork will be accepted only during regular Museum business hours, 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Tuesday through Friday.

The accepted artwork will be on display at the Museum through February 2, 2009. The artwork not accepted will be available for pick up on January 27, 2009.

The opening reception and celebration for this exhibition will be on Friday, January 23, 2009 from 5-7 p.m. This event will also officially kick off 2009, the Fresno Art Museum’s 60^th anniversary year, as the “Year of the Member”. For 60 years, the Fresno Art Museum has been presenting modern and contemporary art to the Valley. The event will be free for the general public where we’ll unveil the 2009 new membership campaign goal.
