MOA Oasis Gardens is a 10 acre farm approximately 6 miles east of Clovis Avenue and a half mile north of Shaw Avenue at 5790 N. Indianola Avenue, Clovis. The facility is operated by the Fresno branch of the Mokichi Okada Association to demonstrate the three principles of balanced living promoted by the Pan American MOA: nature farming, Okada Purifying Therapy, and art. For the past several years, the association has held the Cherry Blossom Festival in March and plans to expand the art portion of the festival, to be held on March 20, 2010. The event will be co-sponsored by Wellness Connections.

Twenty local artists will be invited to participate in the show, which will be held in one of the gardens on the farm. This will be an outdoor show; each artist will be provided a 10' x 10' space. Each artist is responsible for providing their own canopy, display furnishings, chair, etc. The cost of the space is $75 with provision for a $50 refund in the event of cancellation of the show due to inclement weather.

Set up will be from 7:30-9:30 am on Saturday, March 20, and all displays must remain in place until 5:00 pm. There is no electricity available. Each artist must have a valid California Resale License and be responsible for California taxes. (http://www.boe.ca.gov) Each invited artist or a representative must attend the artists' meeting to be held at 2:00 pm at the Oasis Gardens on Saturday, February 20, 2010.

This will be a juried show. The jury is looking for quality work that enhances positive, balanced living. Interested artists must submit the following information no later than Wednesday, January 20, 2010, to be considered:

Name of Artist
Address
Telephone Number
Email Address (if available)
Type of Media/Description of Work To Be Displayed
Three pictures of the artist's work or a web site on which the work may be viewed

All work to be displayed in the show must be the artist's original work. No commercial, mass produced, or work made from kits will be accepted. Giclees and prints of the artist's work are acceptable. The jury will meet on Thursday, January 21, and invitations to the selected artists will be extended during the following week, at which time, the artist must submit the entry fee in order to be confirmed as a show participant.

Submissions should be made to the art coordinator Frank Saxton, The Center Bridging Body, Mind and Spirit, 1233 West Shaw, Suite 105, Fresno, CA 93711, or via email to franks@attitude.com.
