It's back to school time, but that doesn't mean the fun has to end! September Arthop is right around the corner, and that means new pieces, booze, and cupcakes.
It's exciting and an honor to be showing at Cafe Corazon this month--it's a great space with the nicest owners around. Be sure to visit here for Arthop, as the Cafe gets transformed with brand new pen and ink, paintings, and drawings that are going to be mixed with projection and fabric crafts.
Armijo's last year of work has been knee-deep in tour posters for the likes of Thurston Moore (of Sonic Youth), Xiu Xiu, and The Broken Remotes. In her new show, "Lock It", she reclaims found supports like cribs, drawers, and discarded playing cards to narrate a slow, melting hope.

Her second solo show is steeped in that bright, sunny California glossy look tinged with acrid rainbows. You can catch a preview at the artist's website (www.auroraarmijo.com), but there will be so much more to check out in person!
Refreshments will be provided, and, of course, this is a free event!
